Description
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program is managed through the Express Entry system. To qualify for the CEC, prospective immigrants must meet the following requirements:
- Fulfill the required language criteria.
- Have worked for at least one year full-time (or an equivalent amount of part-time work) in a skilled position (classified under NOC codes O, A, or B) within the three years preceding the application. These positions include managerial roles, professional occupations, technical roles, and skilled trades such as Supervisors, Welders, Mechanics, Accountants, Nurses, Computer Programmers, and Engineers. The work experience must have been gained with the proper work or study authorization.
- There is no need to provide proof of settlement funds.
- Work experience gained in Quebec is counted, but self-employment or work done while awaiting a refugee decision is not considered.
