Overview
Martin Glazer has practiced criminal law exclusively since being called to the Manitoba Bar in 1982. He has represented clients from all walks of life and defended individuals accused of nearly every type of crime. He takes pride in thoroughly preparing for trial and passionately advocating for his clients. His experience includes numerous jury trials, appearances in all Manitoba Courts for bail applications, preliminary hearings, and trials, as well as arguing many appeals in the Manitoba Court of Appeal.
Glazer has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa on four separate occasions, handling a range of criminal cases, including a stolen property case in 1987, a sexual assault case in 1988, a breach of trust case involving a conditional sentence (house arrest) which was upheld on appeal in 1999, and a first-degree murder mistrial case in 2001. High-profile cases have been a significant feature of his career, with many of his criminal cases being covered in newspapers, radio, and television. His keen interest in fighting for the underdog and his compassion for those accused of crimes underscore his commitment to assisting everyone, from the impoverished defendant to the wealthy celebrity.
