Navigating Quebec's Immigration Process
By Immigrid Team ·
Restored and revised October 16, 2026. First published 2024-10-21 on Immigrid's former WordPress site. An authentic archived original was recovered. This edition removes outdated rules, unsupported promises and claims that Immigrid is an immigration agency. The original publication date is retained.
Start with the current program name
Quebec's official skilled-worker guidance now describes the Skilled Worker Selection Program, with an expression of interest submitted through Arrima as the starting point. An older program name or a 2024 announcement is not enough to establish today's requirements. Follow the current program pages for the stream and circumstances that apply to you.
Separate selection from the rest of the process
Make a checklist with separate headings for Quebec selection, the later federal process and any temporary permission you may need while waiting. An expression of interest, an invitation, an application and a final decision are different milestones. Do not treat creating an Arrima account as a selection decision or as permission to begin work.
Check each requirement at its source
Use Quebec's own requirements and invitation pages for selection questions. Record the program name, relevant dates, document instructions and unresolved language or occupation questions. If an older article refers to an annual cap, check which application category and period the announcement covered before applying it to your own plan.
Keep a clear record
Save the instructions and correspondence you rely on, including messages in the official account. If two notices seem inconsistent, ask the authority or a properly qualified representative to clarify the issue rather than choosing the more favourable interpretation. This revised guide withdraws outdated route descriptions and does not claim that a 2024 cap or processing estimate remains current.
