Sharma-Singh was born in London, England. She migrated to Canada in 1970. Her father, Roopnarine Sharma, is a prominent Toronto lawyer, and her mother, Dhani Sharma, worked with the Ministry of the Attorney General's office. Mala attended York University, where she studied Political Science and Sociology, and graduated from CDI College with Honours as an Immigration Consultant.
Mala began her successful career working for the Provincial Government of Canada at the Old City Hall Chief Judge's Office, where she conducted legal research for 52 judges. She then embarked on a notable career with the Federal Government of Canada in the Department of Citizenship and Immigration, serving as an Immigration Counselor Assistant and Immigration Officer for 25 years. During her tenure, she processed thousands of cases under Family Class, Humanitarian and Compassionate, Refugees, Visitor Permits, Work Permits, and Caregivers. She also conducted Landing Ceremonies and Citizenship Ceremonies for thousands of clients.
Mala received the Federal Government Public Service and Loyalty Award from the Prime Minister of Canada for her contributions. She has been actively involved in numerous political campaigns, successfully raising funds for many Canadian politicians. As a community influencer and activist, Mala has supported various charities, including the United Way, Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, and SickKids Hospital.
Additionally, Mala works as a Casting Director for local and international films shot in Canada. She has produced, directed, and hosted television shows on ATN, City TV, and Global Television Network. Mala founded the South Asian Model and Talent Agency to promote Canadian talent and has launched the careers of many international artists. She has been recognized with awards for Excellence in Global Impact and Global Excellence in Leadership in Arts and Entertainment.
Currently, Mala is the Director of Sharma-Singh Immigration Services Inc., where she represents clients globally as a Canadian Regulated Immigration Consultant (RCIC). Her excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with her experience as a former Immigration Officer, enable her to guide and represent her clients professionally.
