Under the Child and Youth Support Program, caregivers can receive basic benefits of up to $148 per month for children aged 12-17 and up to $105 per month for children aged 0-11. In addition to these basic benefits, caregivers may qualify for limited supplementary benefits to cover school expenses, childcare costs, extended medical coverage, and an annual supplementary benefit.
Community Partnership Youth Grants are available to support projects aimed at youth at risk, with a focus on mentoring to enhance social skills, self-esteem, and confidence. The Office of the Child and Youth Advocate provides legal representation and support for at-risk youth, while services extend to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and people in care.
Persons with disabilities can access financial assistance through programs like the Residential Access Modification Program and Aids to Daily Living. Seniors may benefit from property tax deferrals, eye care, dental, and health benefits, with additional support for those in long-term care or supportive living facilities through the Supplementary Accommodation Benefit.
For those needing help with financial management, the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee provides support in areas such as decision-making, trusteeship, and guardianship. PACE also offers employment, housing, and financial assistance, including emergency aid, the Alberta Child Benefit, and the Alberta Adult Health Benefit, ensuring a broad range of support for low-income individuals and families.
