Description
At the Centre for Response-Based Practice, the mission is to provide and advocate for socially just and effective responses to violence and various forms of oppression and adversity. This is achieved through a range of services including direct counseling, education, research, supervision, and advocacy.
The Centre is dedicated to guiding and coordinating the research, development, and application of Response-Based ideas across different settings. Their goal is to collaborate with individuals and organizations to advance these concepts, raise awareness, and empower others in the use of Response-Based practices.
Response-Based Practice is a specialized approach designed for working with individuals and groups facing adversity, including violence and injustice. It emphasizes the existing competencies of individuals in everyday life, even in challenging situations. According to this model, the root of the problem is not found within the individuals themselves but in the mistreatment and humiliation they experience within contexts of violence and injustice, as well as negative responses from social networks and institutional actors.
