British Columbia Immigration Invitations: Latest ITAs in BC and Manitoba PNPs

British Columbia (B.C.) and Manitoba have recently issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to immigration candidates through their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). These ITAs were issued to candidates who met specific criteria, such as having skills in key employment areas, an offer of employment in the province, or having previously studied in the province that nominated them. Let’s dive into the details of these recent immigration results.

British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP)

In the recent draws, British Columbia invited at least 77 candidates through the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams of the BCPNP. These streams specifically target individuals with eligible professional experience in sectors with in-demand positions, such as healthcare, childcare, construction, tech, and veterinary care.

The minimum scores varied for each draw, with the following cut-off scores:

  • Childcare draw cut-off score: 90
  • Construction draws cut-off score: 93
  • Healthcare draw cut-off score: 100
  • Tech draw cut-off score: 120
  • Veterinary care draw cut-off score: 80

The International Graduate stream, which includes the Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) option, targets individuals who have graduated from an eligible Canadian university or college in the last three years. To be eligible for this stream, candidates must obtain a job offer from a B.C. employer. The EEBC option aligns with the federal Express Entry system, allowing the BCPNP to invite eligible candidates in the Express Entry pool to immigrate and settle in the province.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

Manitoba invited 371 candidates this week through the MPNP. These invitations were issued across three different streams and an occupation-specific draw.

The occupation-specific draw targeted profiles declaring current employment in occupations that have a high labor need in the province. Eighteen ITAs were issued to candidates with experience in professions corresponding to National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes: 72024 – Supervisors, Motor Transport and Other Ground Transit Operators; and 73301 – Bus Drivers, Subway Operators, and Other Transit Operators. The NOC system is Canada’s national system to classify and define different jobs in the country’s labor market.

The second draw was an all-program selection that invited 242 eligible candidates under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, which includes the Manitoba Work Experience and Employer Direct Recruitment pathways. Candidates needed a minimum ranking score of 836 to be invited.

The third draw occurred under the International Education stream, which invited 76 eligible candidates. This stream targets graduates from schools in Manitoba who meet the needs of the province’s labor market. It includes the Career Employment Pathway, the Graduate Internship Pathway, and the International Student Entrepreneur Pathway.

The last draw occurred under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, inviting 35 candidates with a minimum ranking score of 698. This stream allows candidates from abroad with in-demand skills and professional experience to be nominated to immigrate and settle in Manitoba. It consists of the Manitoba Express Entry Pathway and the Human Capital Pathway.

Out of the 371 candidates who were invited, 66 declared a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.

Conclusion

British Columbia and Manitoba have demonstrated their commitment to attracting skilled workers and international graduates through their respective PNPs. These programs provide opportunities for individuals with in-demand skills and qualifications to immigrate and contribute to the provinces’ labor markets.

It is important to note that different PNPs have their own methods of assigning scores to candidates, and cut-off scores should not be compared across provinces. Additionally, some provinces may use different terms for ITAs, such as “Notifications of Interest” or “Letters of Advice to Apply,” but they all refer to the same kind of invitation.

If you are considering immigrating to Canada, exploring the PNPs can be a viable pathway. Stay updated with the latest immigration news and program requirements to increase your chances of receiving an invitation to apply.
