A notable project in summer 2022 resulted in the approval of seventy-five room attendants to work in hotels in Ontario, who entered Canada from Mexico. This achievement was made possible by new policies introduced on April 30, 2022, which allowed low-skilled workers to enter Canada to address labor shortages affecting various industries, particularly hospitality and healthcare. The Director of Global Hut Immigration, Tushar Chawla, was born and raised in Varanasi, India, one of the world's oldest cities. Mr. Chawla grew up in an environment where his family managed multiple textile and garment manufacturing units, as well as hospitality banquet halls. The garment industry has been a family tradition for over three generations. Mr. Chawla describes his qualities as naturally developed: 'The empathy, leadership, and eagerness to learn more came naturally,' he says. He also expresses his concerns about unethical business practices: 'To me, working ethically and doing what is right keeps them haunting, and in a good way how they like it to be. It saddens them to see how many businesses will make decisions to only benefit themselves, even to the extent of unimaginable manipulation of the law and regulations that they govern in Canada.'

After living in Australia and the USA, Mr. Chawla arrived in Canada in 2001 as an international student at Niagara College. What began as an unplanned stay abroad eventually turned into a permanent home for him. On July 1, 2019, Mr. Chawla founded Global Hut Immigration Corp. He holds an MBA from the University of Guelph, hotel management degrees from Australia and Niagara College, human resources training from Sheridan College, accounting coursework from McMaster University up to CPA Level 3, and a regulated professional license in immigration. He is also a certified human resources leader.

Having left India at the age of 20, Mr. Chawla has accumulated extensive experience in hospitality and international education student recruitment. His previous roles include General Manager, Accounting Manager, Financial Controller, Guest Services Manager, and International Student Recruitment Manager for South Asia at Niagara College. As Director of Global Hut Immigration Corp since 2019, Mr. Chawla has applied his expertise in international immigration. During his tenure as International Student Recruitment Manager at Niagara College (2009-2019), he played a pivotal role in increasing the international student intake from 100 in 2009 to 3,000 in 2018. In this role, he worked closely with Canadian Trade Commissioners to promote Canadian education worldwide. His extensive travels to countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, St. Lucia, Trinidad, Jamaica, and the Bahamas have provided him with a deep understanding of international markets, foreign workers, education, hospitality, and the immigration industry. At Niagara College, Mr. Chawla's work with over 500 agents from India contributed to generating $54 million in revenue for the college's international department in 2018.
