Description
Marly has been counseling individuals and couples for the past four years and has extensive experience with various presenting concerns, including anxiety, relational issues, trauma, substance use, big emotions, stress, gender-based violence, grief, and isolation/loneliness. She typically works with older children, youth, and adults.
Marly practices from a Narrative Therapy perspective, which is based on the belief that the person is not the problem; rather, the problem is the problem. She views clients as the experts in their own lives and believes in supporting them through curiosity, co-creating meaning, and deconstructing narratives that may be hindering their progress. Additionally, Marly employs a critical social work lens informed by feminism, postmodernism, and social justice.
She considers it an honor to be present and witness clients' experiences and stories as expressed by them. As part of her practice, Marly may write poems, stories, and letters to reflect their time together.
Marly is registered with the BCCSW for social work and is approved by most extended benefit providers, with direct billing available for her services.
