Wood Buffalo Addiction and Mental Health Services announced the consolidation of their services into a single, convenient location at 339 Powder Drive, Fort McMurray. This new facility now offers a range of services, including walk-in counselling and referral services, from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Walk-In Clinic, which previously operated at 10217 Queen Street, serves as the initial point of contact for clients seeking short-term counselling for various mental health issues such as stress, bereavement, parenting challenges, relationship issues, depression, and anxiety. No appointment or referral is required for access to these services.
The new Powder Drive location also integrates community Addiction and Mental Health services, which were previously provided at both the Queen Street site and Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. The facility continues to offer familiar programs, including the Gambling Recovery Intensive Program (GRIP), Relapse Prevention Group, Friends and Family Support Group, Youth Information Series, Fort McMurray Diversion Program, and Assertive Outreach Services (AOS). Additionally, Street Connect will maintain its presence at the new site, delivering street-based community outpatient services throughout Fort McMurray.
This consolidation aims to enhance convenience and accessibility for clients, ensuring that they receive comprehensive care, including counselling, joint-case conferencing, and case planning, all under one roof. For more information or to schedule an appointment, Wood Buffalo Addiction and Mental Health Services can be reached at 780-793-8360.
